Woven Necklace with Modern Clasp

Woven chains are a rare luxury today, but nothing can rival the substantial weight and distinctive look of a fine handmade necklace. This one is exquisite: a double woven Roman Chain, done with hair fine (0.2mm) fine silver wire and an innovative hand made clasp.

Double weaving means that the wire goes through each loop twice for each step. This creates a tight but flexible weave and a wonderful, silky texture. However, it is extremely time consuming to make. There is over 8 hours of work in the chain alone.

Of course, such a chain deserves an amazing clasp as well. I wanted to keep the look as sleek and minimalistic as possible, yet being safe and ease to operate.

The result is this very special piece. It is elegant and discrete, simple and luxurious. It stands out if worn by itself, but it can easily accommodate a larger pendant.
