Butterfly Hairstick in Sterling Silver

This pretty silver butterfly hair stick is both useful and ornamental: it will hold your hair firmly and add a touch of whimsy as well. The clean lines and elongated shape keep it fresh and modern.

The idea for this design came from a piece of scrap silver on my bench. The strange shape and size made it hard to use in my usual projects, but I was hanging on to it, since I avoid sending any metal to be refined that might still be usable. One day, it whispered to me "I can fly - I know I can" and, as I looked at it, I could see the outline of wings. So I set to work to free the butterfly from the scrap of metal. And here it is, lightly perched on a silver hair stick.

Instead of reaching for the nearest pencil to put your hair up, do it with grace and beauty. The matte silver with burnished edges also adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. No more haphazard buns!
